Oatmeal Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1-1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/3 cups Karo® Dark Corn Syrup
  • 3 tablespoons butter OR margarine, melted
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1-1/3 cups quick oats (not instant)
  • Optional, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (-inch) unbaked pie crust

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Beat eggs slightly with a fork in a medium bowl. Add sugar, salt, corn syrup, butter and vanilla; stir until well blended. Add oats; stir. Add walnuts if desired. Pour into pie crust.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 350°F and bake for 30 to 35 minutes longer, or until the outer edges of filling are set and the center is slightly soft.
